I used to be a slim guy but things in life change, and so did my waistline. At my biggest I must have been over the 340 lbs/155 kg bracket.
About 7 years ago I actively tried to loose the waist line. I tried training with weights & walking, which got me down to 326 lbs/148 kg. I felt good for the exercise & feeling fitter I decided to revisit my youth by taking martial arts back up & eventually mountain bicycling.
This got me down to 304 lbs/138 kgs, but I was too heavy to enjoy much success in these sports. Recent work demands saw me stop exercising, my weight soon rose to 326lbs/148kg again.
I eat healthy, drink water instead of soda, so there’s not much to give there. On again/off again exercising has seen me fluctuating between 326lbs/148kg to 304lbs/138kgs.
February 2013 saw me taking up jogging/running by starting the couch to 5 k (c25k) programme. This is a 9 week programme that combines walking & jogging at various intervals, until at the end of week 9 you are jogging 5km or 30 minutes. However, it took me one month to move on from the week one activities: jogging for 60 seconds at a time, to week two’s jogging 90 seconds at a time.
Two months in to the c25k programme, my weight is 315lbs/143kgs, and my goal is to complete weeks 3 & 4 in a month. If I can do this there is hope that I can get to the 5km & beyond my wall of 304lbs/138kgs.
